James Allen, the first person to breed Snowdrops from the wild, was born in Shepton Mallet.
The Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Project celebrates his legacy, the history and heritage of our town and the beauty of the snowdrop. The aim of the Snowdrop festival is to blanket the town white with snowdrops!
The Snowdrop Festival occurs in February, with specialist plant sales, workshops, art and craft, poetry and photography competitions.
