A substantial refurbishment project to modernise and extend a large existing dwelling.

DVA were appointed to redesign the property to achieve a better proportion, appearance and scale, creating a more welcoming and nicely balanced home. Oak framed structures were introduced to the front and side elevations, breaking up the scale of the building. To the rear, a contemporary extension was proposed in render and timber cladding, to offset the natural stone of the original building.

Finally, all of the extensions are carefully linked to the newly formed courtyards and gardens to complete the transformation.
